He reportedly sent a text message to his boss announcing his resignation from the studio. According to @thefunkeadeoye, his boss took offense at the content of the resignation text and subsequently had him arrested. Nicholas was charged with ‘intentional insult’ and imprisoned. He was initially granted bail of N100,000, which was later reduced to N50,000; however, he was unable to pay the bail amount and remained in jail. His situation persisted until the social justice organization ‘Hope Behind Bars’ became aware of his plight. @thefunkeadeoye shared further details … “This is Nicholas. A 26-year-old graduate, photographer, and keyboardist. In October 2023, Nicholas sent a text message to his boss resigning his role as a photographer in the photo studio. His boss, angered by the text, had him arrested. Nicholas spent 2 days in police detention before being charged with ‘intentional insult’ and locked up in a cell with 189 other inmates at a prison in Keffi. He remained imprisoned because he could not afford the bail sum, initially set at N100,000 and later reduced to N50,000.” “Despite the boss, a politician and owner of a well-known photography studio in FCT, writing a letter to the court withdrawing the charge, Nicholas continued to be held in prison. Two weeks ago, @hopebehindbars was informed of Nicholas's situation, and @thehassanian reached out to a friend who anonymously donated N50,000 to secure his release.” “The first picture shows Nicholas two months before his imprisonment, the second photo was taken when we got him out last week, and the third is a recent picture of him at @hopebehindbars office.” Check out the post below … What do you think about this Article?
