A young boy was caught by a group of concerned Muslim youth in Ashaiman, Washington, early yesterday morning for allegedly using pages from the Qur’an as toilet paper in a nearby bush commonly used for defecation by locals.
The youth, who had grown increasingly disturbed by the discovery of torn Qur’an pages scattered in the area, decided to investigate further. They noticed that the pages were being used as toilet paper in the bush, which led them to suspect ongoing desecration of the holy book.
To address the situation, they reported the matter to the local Imam, who advised them to conduct surveillance in the area to identify the culprit. After several days of monitoring, they caught the boy red-handed in the act of using pages from the Qur’an for such purposes.
When questioned about the source of the Qur’an, the boy revealed that the holy book had belonged to his late father, who was a Muslim. He explained that the Qur’an had been kept in his room for years following his father’s passing.
The boy also disclosed that he is a Christian and admitted to having little understanding of the Qur’an or its sacred significance in Islam. His actions were met with widespread disapproval, and the local Imam is said to have addressed the community about the importance of respecting religious texts.
