A Zimbabwean woman has reportedly hired a group of thugs to attack her husband after he confronted her about some used condoms he discovered in their bedroom. The shocking incident has sparked discussions online, as many expressed their opinions on the unfolding drama.

According to reports, the husband, identified as Kenias Zimbwa, was celebrating his birthday when the confrontation with his wife, Chipiwa Taruona, escalated. Instead of addressing his concerns, she allegedly called upon a group of men, including her brother and a soldier, to physically assault him and forcibly throw him out of their matrimonial home.

Recounting his ordeal at the Harare Civil Court, Zimbwa narrated how he returned home to find used condoms under their bed, leading to an intense argument. He claimed that his wife’s response was to summon thugs who brutally attacked him, inflicting injuries and ultimately throwing him out of their house completely naked.

“I came home on my birthday to find used condoms under my bed, and when I confronted her, she hired bouncers to attack me. One of the bouncers was her brother, who was a soldier. They attacked me, leaving me with bruises, and threw me out of the house while I was naked. My wife also once attacked me with a screwdriver four times,” Zimbwa revealed to the court.

The distressed husband further claimed that his wife had been engaging in extramarital affairs while denying him intimacy for months. He also accused her of neglecting him, stating that she refused to cook for him, forced him to sleep on the floor without a blanket, and subjected him to various forms of emotional and physical abuse. He expressed his fear that if nothing was done, she might eventually take his life.

“I was hurt to know that my wife has been having extramarital affairs after starving me of s3x for months. She does not cook for me, and I am forced to sleep without a blanket or rather on the floor. I am scared that she will end up killing me. I wish the court could protect me,” he pleaded.

In response to the allegations, Chipiwa Taruona admitted to hiring the thugs but insisted that her actions were a form of retaliation. She accused Zimbwa of being abusive towards her for years, claiming that he had subjected her to sexual abuse and mistreatment, which she could no longer endure.

“My husband has been in the habit of sexually abusing me for years. I hired people to attack him,” she told the court in her defense.

After listening to both sides, Magistrate Meenal Narotam ruled in Chipiwa’s favor and granted her a protection order against Zimbwa. The ruling has since generated mixed reactions, with some people supporting the court’s decision while others believe justice was not served in favor of the husband.
