A Nigerian woman has shared a heartbreaking account of how her husband allegedly traveled to Lagos in 2019 shortly after their wedding and never returned. The woman, identified as Chinenye Anyanwu, detailed her story on Facebook, recounting the painful events that followed her marriage.
Chinenye explained that after she and her husband got married in 2019, she soon found out that she was pregnant. Overjoyed, she shared the news with her husband, expecting a positive reaction. However, much to her dismay, he was not pleased with the news at all.
Chinenye revealed that her husband then left for Lagos, claiming it would be a short trip. However, weeks turned into months, and he never returned. It was only later that Chinenye discovered that their wedding was allegedly a sham, with her husband vanishing after taking advantage of her trust.
In her Facebook post, Chinenye provided more details about the deception. She shared how, after her husband left, she realized that the people who attended their wedding on his behalf were not genuine. According to her, many of the attendees, including his supposed family members and even the photographer, were hired or manipulated to play roles in the fake wedding.
Chinenye's shocking discovery revealed that her husband’s true intention was to gain access to her finances and belongings. After realizing this, she faced the reality of being abandoned while pregnant, with no support from the man she had married or his supposed family members, whose contact numbers stopped working after the wedding.
In the years following the incident, Chinenye has been trying to rebuild her life. She admitted that the betrayal affected her deeply, not just emotionally but also mentally, spiritually, and financially. The pain of her experience has lingered for five years, during which she has struggled to move on and heal from the damage caused by her husband’s deceit.
Chinenye shared how the emotional toll of the betrayal has been overwhelming, with the past two months being particularly difficult for her. She expressed her feelings of despair, questioning why she has had to endure such severe consequences for trusting someone she thought she knew. Despite the challenges, Chinenye has chosen not to curse her husband, leaving their fate in the hands of the universe and hoping for justice.
