A Nigerian man has vowed to take action after mistakenly sending ₦200k instead of ₦20k to a vendor, who then went offline and stopped responding to him. The man, feeling deceived, shared his experience on social media to warn others.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the man detailed how the incident unfolded. He explained that the vendor had contacted him through his DMs, requesting his patronage and mentioning that she had not made any sales this year. Initially intending to send ₦20k to the vendor, the man accidentally transferred ₦200k instead.
Realizing the mistake three days later, the man immediately contacted the vendor and requested a refund of ₦150k, allowing the vendor to keep the remaining ₦50k as a gift. However, the vendor went offline and failed to respond to his request for the refund.
The man, frustrated by the situation, set a deadline for the refund. He warned the vendor that if the ₦150k was not returned by 7 a.m. the following day, he would take further action, which he described as potentially worse than any current conflict involving Burna Boy and Speedy Darlington.
In his post, he stated: “You came to my DM begging me to patronize you because you hadn’t made a single sale this year. I bought something for ₦10k, asked you to give it to someone nearby, and wanted to send ₦20k but mistakenly transferred ₦200k.”
“You locked up. When I realized the error on the third day, I asked you to send ₦150k and keep the rest, but you suddenly went offline.”
“A fi ibi su ol’ore. I know you’ll see this post. If I don’t receive an alert by 7 a.m. tomorrow, what I’ll do will be worse than what Burna Boy is currently doing to Speedy Darlington.”
The post gained significant attention, with many users sharing their thoughts in the comment section. Some expressed surprise that the man didn’t notice the error sooner, while others criticized the vendor for her actions and lack of integrity. Many users suggested tagging the vendor to warn others and prevent them from falling victim to similar scams.
