The student, identified as Precious Mbakwe, was involved in an incident where she physically assaulted her lecturer after he interrupted her TikTok live video. The altercation, which went viral, caused a public uproar, and the university quickly became the center of controversy as people debated the severity of her actions and the subsequent response from the administration.

In light of the incident, the university management stated that the school’s disciplinary committee held a meeting to review the case. After carefully considering the situation, the committee determined that the student’s behavior was unacceptable and constituted a gross violation of the university’s Student Disciplinary Regulations. As a result, they made the decision to expel her, which was then approved by the Acting Vice-Chancellor on behalf of the University Senate.

The university's statement confirmed that the expulsion is effective immediately, meaning that Precious Mbakwe is required to leave the university premises without delay. Additionally, the statement mentioned that she must return any property belonging to the university that she still has in her possession, further highlighting the seriousness of the university’s disciplinary actions against her.

The statement further read:

“EXPULSION FROM NNAMDI AZIKIWE UNIVERSITY
