A recent graduate [/b]of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) has tragically passed away after reportedly being tortured, raped, and killed by unknown assailants.
According to reports, the assailants abandoned her body on the road after committing the heinous crime.
The graduate, identified as Adekolure Idowu Glory, had completed her program at UNIBEN and returned to the institution to complete her clearance process.
On Thursday, June 13, 2024, the 22-year-old was attacked by unknown individuals while returning home. She was assaulted, raped, and murdered, with her body discovered near her family’s residence in the Iyowa neighborhood of Benin, Edo State.
Reports indicated she sustained injuries indicating severe physical assault, including markings on her body.
Her remains have been placed in the morgue.
In an emotional plea, her brother posted on X: “Justice for my younger sister Adekolure Idowu Glory, who was raped and murdered in Lyowa Community, Benin, Edo State, on her way back from UNIBEN where she went for her clearance and her body was found near our mother’s house.
“Please help us seek justice for my younger sister who just graduated from the University of Benin (UNIBEN) in April 2024 and was still working on her projects and clearance when she was raped and murdered on her way back from school on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at just 22 years old.
“Her lifeless body was deposited at UBTH mortuary on June 15, 2024, with assistance from the Nigerian Police at Ekiadolor Division. She was brutally assaulted, raped, and murdered. Nigerians, please come to our aid; all we ask for is justice for my innocent sister, as my mother cannot bear this alone.”[/p>
