Blogger, Tosin Silverdam, has spoken after reports that he was arrested by controversial crossdresser, Bobrisky, for alleged defamation. In a previous development, Bobrisky had threatened to take legal action against Tosin Silverdam after he accused him of using his domestic workers for adult content.
Taking to his Snapchat on Tuesday, Bobrisky announced that the blogger had been picked up by the police after days of trying to track him down. According to Bobrisky, Tosin was tracked down to his home in Berger, Lagos State, and was apprehended by the police around 6 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7. He also shared a video of Tosin being questioned by the police on his Snapchat as proof that he indeed got him arrested. Bobrisky added that Tosin was released on bail but that he would make sure the case got to court so that Tosin would never be able to talk trash about him again.
However, reacting in a new video, Tosin debunked reports of being arrested. He maintained that he wasn't arrested but rather was invited for questioning by the police and simply honored the invitation. "I wasn't arrested, I am safe... Disregard Bobrisky's lie," he captioned the video.
The alleged arrest has caused mixed reactions among social media users, with some expressing support for Bobrisky, while others believe that he went too far in his reaction to Tosin's accusation. The video of Tosin being questioned by the police has also sparked controversy, with some people accusing Bobrisky of using his influence to intimidate others and stifle freedom of speech.
As the drama continues to unfold, it remains to be seen what the outcome of the case will be and whether or not it will have any long-lasting impact on the Nigerian social media space.
