The public reaction to this incident has been mixed, with many questioning the parents' harsh response and even suggesting that they advised her to engage in inappropriate activities to obtain the phone. Twitter user @_Deejay07 posted a tweet asking people to refrain from passing judgment while acknowledging that the girl's parents should not have used such language. He stated, "If you all know this girl sha 😕She be big problem I did jamb tutorial with her... She will always miss class, sometimes come late, and even if she comes, she will never listen, just playing around and doing Tiktok."
He went on to describe how, on Fridays, she and some other girls would join them in the field and engage in questionable activities, which could explain her father's comment about knowing "all you do with your body." According to him, she has failed the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination twice, despite attending three sets of tutorials. He encouraged those who doubted his claims to visit her TikTok page to see for themselves, emphasizing that this might not be the right time for her to be requesting a phone after struggling to gain admission to university.
