A pregnant woman who traveled to the United States of America with hopes of giving birth in the country was denied entry, deported upon arrival at the airport, and had her visa revoked.
The woman, who shared her heartbreaking experience on social media, narrated how her journey took an unexpected turn when she landed in the U.S. She explained that shortly after arriving at the airport, she went into labour and was rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention.
However, her relief was short-lived, as she was informed that her entry into the country had been denied. She further disclosed that as soon as she regained consciousness after receiving medical care, she was immediately put on the next available flight back to Nigeria.
Recounting the distressing ordeal, she expressed how traumatizing the experience was, especially given her past loss of a child. She revealed that her husband had suggested traveling to another country to give birth, but due to the emotional and physical toll of the incident, she decided to remain in Nigeria to ensure the safety of her baby.
In her words:
“Playing with my daughter cause life didn’t end when I went to America to give birth to her, but was denied entry into the country and my visa canceled. With the stress, I fell into labour, was rushed to the hospital in Houston.”
“Immediately I became a bit okay, they put me on the next available flight back to Nigeria. My husband offered for me to go somewhere else, but I was too traumatized to embark on another journey. I have lost a child before. I wasn’t going to overstress this baby, so I decided to remain in Nigeria.”
The emotional post has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many social media users expressing sympathy for the woman while others debated the U.S. immigration policies regarding childbirth tourism.
