According to the Daily Post, the situation escalated when one of the officers suddenly opened fire, fatally injuring the young man.

A witness from Aguleri in the same area, who shared a distressing video of the victim’s body, identified the police team involved, reportedly led by an officer named Onyebuchi.

In response to media inquiries, Anambra State Police Command spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that the command was fully aware of the incident and has taken appropriate action.

“The Police Officer involved has been identified as Inspector Sani Suleiman.

“He has been disarmed and detained for further investigations and internal disciplinarian procedures,” Ikenga said.
