A tragic incident has been reported where a patient died after a man allegedly removed her oxygen mask under the pretext of praying for her.
The incident occurred at the Bamenda Regional Hospital in Cameroon.
The man, whose identity is yet to be disclosed, was arrested and admitted to his actions, claiming that oxygen is free.
Identifying himself as a Christian, he justified his actions by saying he was sent by God, showing no remorse for the consequences of his behavior.
An Instagram user, identified as towncryer, shared the video and narrated the incident: “This young man, who claimed to be a pastor, entered the hospital, removed the oxygen mask from a patient, and prayed, leading to the patient’s demise.
“The woman, who was suffering from a lungs infection, was unable to breathe properly and was placed on oxygen support.
“The man removed the oxygen mask and drips, claiming that oxygen is for free, and began praying. Despite the doctors’ attempts to save her, she passed away within minutes.”
The incident has sparked outrage, with some blaming the hospital for negligence, questioning how the man gained access to the patient.
