The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared oil mogul Bolaji Henry Akinduro wanted for fraud, a significant development reported on Friday. This announcement comes amidst growing concerns regarding financial crimes in the country and highlights the EFCC's ongoing efforts to combat corruption and illegal activities within the oil sector.
In an official statement released by the agency’s spokesman, Dele Oyewale, it was disclosed that Akinduro faces serious allegations of obtaining money under false pretenses and engaging in theft by conversion. These accusations paint a troubling picture of fraudulent activities that could have far-reaching implications for investors and stakeholders in the industry.
Bolaji Henry Akinduro is known for his position as the executive chairman of Total Grace Oil and Gas Investment Limited, a company that has been a notable player in the oil and gas sector. His prominence in the industry raises concerns about the integrity of business practices among leaders in this field, particularly regarding financial transactions and investor trust.
The EFCC's circular concerning Akinduro's wanted status states, “The public is hereby notified that BOLAJI HENRY AKINDURO, whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in an alleged case of Obtaining Money under False Pretense and Stealing by Conversion.” This declaration serves as a formal alert to the public, emphasizing the seriousness of the charges against him.
The statement further reveals that Akinduro, who is 51 years old and hails from Ondo State, has a last known address at 272, Patience Coker Street, Ajose Adeogun, Victoria Island, Lagos State. This information is crucial for anyone who may have insights into his whereabouts, as it aids the EFCC in its search for him.
In an appeal for public assistance, the circular continues, “Anybody with useful information as to his whereabouts should please contact the Commission in its Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt, or Abuja offices, or through the following contact: 08093322644.
