With approval from the Guinness World Records, Obot's record attempt is scheduled to take place from September 9 to 15 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Recently, he received confirmation from the renowned organization, signaling their approval of his application for the record attempt.

Taking to social media, Obot shared the email he received, expressing his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity.

If successful, Obot will surpass the current record held by Rysbai Isakov from Kyrgyzstan, who spent 124 hours engrossed in reading during a marathon held in Bursa, Turkey, from September 22 to 27, 2022.

Obot's goal of reading continuously for 145 hours underscores his determination to claim the title of the world's longest reading marathon.

During the extensive reading session, Obot plans to delve into a collection of 25 Nigerian novels, showcasing the literary richness and diversity of his home country.

Through this selection, he hopes to celebrate Nigerian literature while highlighting its value on a global stage.
