According to Moses, the issue began when he asked his sister to prepare Eba for the family. To his surprise, she refused, explaining that men and women are equal, and that if a man is cooking, there is no reason why she should not share the responsibility. Her response shocked him, and he attributes her stance to the influence of feminist ideologies.

Worried man

Moses, clearly distressed by the situation, took to social media to seek advice from others on how to handle the situation and steer his sister away from these "feminist" ideas. In his post, he emphasized that his sister is highly favored and loved within the family, and that the family had even been planning to send her abroad for her education. He expressed concern over the apparent shift in her views, especially since she has never lacked anything and his parents do everything to provide for her. He asked for advice on how to manage her newfound beliefs, wondering whether he should report it to their mother or even seize her phone, as he suspected she might be learning these ideas from TikTok.

He shared the following in his tweet on X (formerly Twitter):

“Bro feminists have corrupted my 14-year-old sister. My younger brother told her to go and make eba. She’s now saying men and women are equal and why is he telling her to make eba. The only chore she does at home is to wash plates and make eba o,” he wrote in a post on Wednesday.

“I really need help I can’t watch my sister turn into a miserable feminist. She’s the most favored and loved at home and our family is even planning to send her to school outside Nigeria, why would she be having the same thoughts as miserable feminists?” he continued. “She doesn’t lack anything at all and my parents do everything to give her all she needs so why these miserable thoughts? Or should I report to my mom or seize her phone because she’s definitely learning about these things from TikTok?”

In the same post, Moses further explained the history of household chores, mentioning that before his sister turned 13, he and his brothers were the ones doing most of the housework without complaints. However, now that it was her turn to contribute, she had started demanding for equality. Moses went on to emphasize his long-standing role as the family's cook, having been the one to prepare meals for the household for over eight years, and yet he is still the one who carries the responsibility of cooking. This, he suggests, is in stark contrast to his sister’s newfound demand for equal roles in household duties.

“I and my brothers were the ones doing all the house chores before she got to 13 years; we nor complain o, her own turn reach she Dey demand for equality. I’ve been the house cook for over 8 years now o and I’m still the chef of the house,” he wrote.

His post has stirred up reactions from social media users, with many offering their own views on the matter, while some expressed support for the idea of equal responsibilities within the home.
