A Nigerian man Emma Ezeuko was killed in Durban, South Africa, in what appears to be an attack by suspected gunmen.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, just five days after Ezeuko’s birthday.
Emma Ezeuko, hailing from the Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria, was among the victims who lost their lives during the shocking incident that took place in Port Shepstone, Durban.
Reports indicate that four passengers, including Ezeuko, were travelling in a taxi when unknown gunmen approached the vehicle and opened fire on its occupants.
The deadly attack resulted in the immediate death of four passengers, while four others were left injured with gunshot wounds. The wounded were quickly rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
Details surrounding the motive for the shooting remain unclear at this time.
Meanwhile, friends and acquaintances of Emma Ezeuko have taken to social media, particularly Facebook, to mourn his untimely demise.
One of his friends, Stephen Obinna Aneke, expressed disbelief over the loss.
He wrote;
“I can’t believe that Emma T Ezeuko is dead. You just celebrated your birthday only 5 days ago, and now your precious life was cut short by hoodlums with guns in Durban, South Africa. I remember the last time you visited me and was very passionate about life and the good things it brought, hoping for a better future. Rest in peace, my friend, until we meet again, and may your killers never go unpunished.”
