A newly employed accountant has allegedly disappeared with the company’s laptop, stolen money from the office, and has blocked all attempts to contact him.

An X user, who happens to be the employer, took to social media to narrate how the newly employed accountant, identified as Aderibigbe Eniola Samson, deceitfully made away with the company’s valuables and also defrauded colleagues.

According to the employer, the accountant stole approximately N150,000 from the office drawer before vanishing. Additionally, within his brief one-month stay at the company, he borrowed about N50,000 from his unsuspecting colleagues, promising to pay back but instead choosing to abscond.

Aside from taking the company’s laptop and cash, the alleged fraudster also stole crucial financial records. Reports indicate that he took all the newly acquired accounting books and even managed to retrieve his guarantor’s form from the company’s safe, eliminating any trace of accountability.

The employer further disclosed the actions being taken to track him down and ensure he faces legal consequences. He revealed that a 24-hour ultimatum was given for the return of the stolen items, but after the deadline expired without compliance, they have decided to escalate the matter legally.

In a statement shared online, the employer outlined the following steps being taken:

1. Filing a criminal report against the accountant at the police station.

2. Visiting his previous places of employment to gather more information about his past behavior.

3. Pursuing legal actions to ensure justice is served and setting a precedent for handling theft cases strictly.

Expressing his frustration, the employer stated:

“We will pursue this case to the full extent of the law if he is apprehended. This will now be our approach to theft cases moving forward. Additionally, we will be reopening old cases where offenders have violated settlement agreements. It is time to start treating criminals like criminals—legally.”

What are we doing on catching him? I gave him a 24-hour ultimatum to return the stolen items, and now that it has run out, we are:
