Orji Uzor Kalu, of Abia North Senatorial District, took to his verified Facebook page on Thursday, March 9, to reveal that his cell phone was taken when he went to the International Conference Centre in Abuja to pick up his Certificate of Return. The former governor of Abia State announced that his cell phone, which had both MTN and Glo lines, was stolen by an unidentified person(s) during the certificate presentation. In his Facebook post, he urged the public to be cautious of any suspicious activities involving his cell phone and numbers, and also stated that his network providers have been informed about the incident.
In response to his post, some netizens advised him to take legal action and go to court if his phone had indeed been stolen. They mimicked the advice given to aggrieved presidential candidates in the wake of the presidential election held on February 25, who were advised to seek redress in court if they disagreed with the election outcome.
A number of comments were left on his post, with some advising him to go to court if he wanted to recover his phone, while others expressed their disappointment in the security measures taken at the certificate presentation.
