Ned Nwoko, a well-known Nigerian politician and successful entrepreneur, has shared his narrow escape from death aboard the ill-fated OceanGate submersible. In the midst of mourning the tragic loss of his friend, British business magnate Hamish Harding, who perished while on a mission to explore the wreckage of the Titanic, Ned Nwoko revealed this revelation.
Earlier reports had confirmed the deaths of Hamish and four others following the disappearance of the Titan submarine they were aboard from radar detection. The submersible's implosion led to the devastating loss of all individuals on board.
Expressing his response to the heartbreaking news, Ned Nwoko, a 62-year-old billionaire who was recently inaugurated as a Senator representing the Delta North senatorial district, disclosed that he had received an invitation for the Titan expedition. However, due to his existing commitments within Nigeria, he was unable to accept the invitation.
On his Instagram page, the respected businessman shared cherished photographs capturing moments spent with Hamish and conveyed a heartfelt message. He expressed his deep sorrow for the loss of his dear friend and business partner, highlighting their shared dangerous expedition to the South Pole in Antarctica and their collaboration on research projects aimed at eradicating malaria in Africa. Ned Nwoko also mentioned how Hamish had invited him to join the ill-fated Titan adventure, as well as a space shuttle mission, but his national duties prevented him from participating.
Ned Nwoko's heart goes out to Hamish's grieving wife and children, with whom he had formed a close bond over the years. He expressed admiration for Hamish's love for adventure and challenges, emphasizing that his wealth of experience will be greatly missed.
