A Ugandan man named Hajj Habib Nsikonnene made headlines in the Mukono district by marrying seven women simultaneously. The joyful groom invited family and friends to share in his celebration, which included a church wedding and a lively reception. Each bride was individually styled at a salon in the morning and then transported in custom vans bearing their names. Nsikonnene, during his wedding speech, praised his wives for their loyalty, with the oldest having been with him for seven years. He explained that he introduced them separately and chose to marry them all at once to create a harmonious family and prevent jealousy in his marital home. The groom's father, Hajj Abdul Ssemakula, noted that polygamy has been a long-standing tradition in their family, with multiple wives living together in one house.

Speaking on how he had proposed, the groom revealed that he had done the introduction of each of the wife separately then married them all at once in order to avoid any chances of creating jealousy in his marital home.
“I introduced them separately and decided to wed them all at once to make one big happy family. I am still a young man and in the near future, God willing, I cannot say this is the end of it,” he said.

The groom’s father, Hajj Abdul Ssemakula, also explained that polygamy has been a longstanding tradition in their family.
