A Nigerian man has taken to social media to raise an urgent warning to residents of Douglas in Owerri after he and his friends were robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight.
In a post that has now gone viral on TikTok, he recounted his terrifying experience, explaining how the incident unfolded in the middle of the day when he and his friends were confronted by a group of armed individuals.
According to him, the robbery occurred at approximately 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., a time when people least expect such an attack. He detailed how the assailants, numbering about seven, suddenly approached them, brandishing weapons and demanding their valuables.
His statement reads: “If you’re in Owerri and passing through Douglas, be very careful. On Tuesday, seven boys surrounded me and my friends, using guns to take our phones in broad daylight.”
“This happened around 11 to 12 in the morning. If you’re in Owerri, avoid Douglas and stay vigilant.”
