This revelation has since triggered a wave of reactions across social media platforms, with many debating the differences in lifestyle and energy usage between Nigeria and its neighboring countries.

Man shocked as apprentice can’t refuel a generator.

The Nigerian man shared the incident in a post on X, formerly Twitter, where he described how he had asked the apprentice to refuel a generator. To his astonishment, the young man admitted that he didn’t know how to do it.

When pressed further, the apprentice explained that generators are rarely used in Benin Republic because of the stable electricity supply in the country. This explanation left the man both embarrassed and astonished, prompting him to share the story online to get other people’s opinions.

He wrote:

“So I asked my new apprentice, who came in from Benin Republic, to pour fuel into the gen, and he told me he doesn’t know how to do it. I was angry because this dude is 24, for crying out loud. Only for him to tell me that they don’t use generators in Benin Republic. Shame wan wound me.”

The post quickly went viral, sparking heated debates and reactions from users. While some expressed disbelief and amusement, others used the opportunity to highlight the stark differences in electricity availability between Nigeria and Benin Republic.
