The incident, which has gone viral, sparked massive debate after the female student physically confronted the lecturer. The altercation escalated to the point where she slapped him, tore his clothes, and even bit him. The entire ordeal was caught on camera and has since circulated widely across social media platforms.
In his reaction, the man took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to weigh in on the controversy, describing the student’s actions as both audacious and unfortunate. He further expressed doubts about her ability to continue her studies at the university, urging her to seek alternative options.
According to reports, the altercation began when the lecturer allegedly attempted to confiscate her phone, which she was using in a manner deemed inappropriate within the school premises. The student, however, retaliated aggressively, leading to a chaotic scene.
In an unexpected turn of events, the female student later released a statement defending herself, claiming she was unaware that the man was a lecturer at the university. She also alleged that he inappropriately held onto her chest during the encounter, which prompted her reaction.
The lecturer, on the other hand, provided his own version of the events, maintaining that he was merely enforcing school regulations and that the student’s response was entirely uncalled for.
Reacting to the situation, the young man who commented on social media warned that the consequences of her actions could be severe. He predicted that even if the university authorities decided to be lenient, her lecturers might make her academic journey extremely difficult.
He wrote:
“I feel sorry for that girl who slapped and tore a lecturer’s shirt in UNIZIK today. First of all, I know that lecturer personally, and he is one of the most calm and respectful men in the Faculty of Arts. Unfortunately, the devil chose to use that young lady today.”
“She should just go and register for JAMB because, in the UNIZIK I attended, this kind of behavior doesn’t go unpunished. If she is wise, she should consider transferring to another university, maybe somewhere in Benin, Ghana, or even a private school in Nigeria.”
“Even if, by some miracle, the school forgives her, the lecturers in her department will ensure she does not have an easy ride.”
He further pointed out that there was a strong likelihood that the university might not be lenient with her. He added that even if she was not officially expelled, the negative attention she had drawn to herself could make continuing her studies difficult.
See some reactions from social media users below:
@mic_belexv: “She’s accusing the lecturer of sexual assault now. She claims the lecturer was touching her chest while she was on live video. The story keeps changing.”
@BigSam_612: “The way that lecturer was touching her doesn’t sit right with me. There’s more to this story. That man should be investigated properly!”
@ygmillions: “Regardless of what happened, she had no right to physically attack a lecturer. She needs to learn some respect. What kind of example is she setting?”
@PeterNdukwe6: “I blame the guys who stood by and let this happen. Why did nobody intervene? That girl had no business behaving like that.”
@Glassykuz: “Once she’s rusticated, her best bet is to find another university that will accept her. A private school might be her only option.”
@posiogh: “We all saw the video. The lecturer was calm the entire time, just trying to get free. Meanwhile, the student kept escalating things. If the university lets this slide, its reputation will take a hit.”
@comediandaniboy: “Students have too much audacity these days! I don’t think this would ever happen in my school. Back then, nobody would even think of trying this.”
