A Nigerian man has openly declared that he would always choose his girlfriend over his mother, stating that his decision is based on the way his mother treated him during his financial struggles.
Sharing his story in a post on his TikTok page, the young man explained that his mother continuously showed favoritism towards his younger brother simply because his brother was financially stable, while he was still struggling to make ends meet. According to him, his mother’s actions made him feel unworthy, as she frequently took his younger brother’s side during disagreements and even raised her voice at him in frustration.
The young man further recounted how his mother almost threw him out of the house because he was not financially well-off. He recalled feeling abandoned and unloved by his own family, which deepened his emotional pain. However, during this difficult period, his girlfriend stood by him, offering him unwavering support in ways his mother never did.
He shared that his girlfriend consistently sent him money, provided data for his phone, and offered him the emotional encouragement he needed to keep pushing forward in life. This, he said, is why he has made up his mind to always choose his girlfriend over his mother, as she was the one who truly supported him when he had nothing.
