A man has revealed that he stopped attending his church after the pastor requested that church members contribute money to buy a car for his wife.
The man took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his experience, explaining that he felt compelled to leave the church after hearing the pastor, who already owned five cars, tell the congregation that his wife, affectionately referred to as "Mummy," did not have her own car. The pastor encouraged the church members to donate towards buying her one. The man, feeling uncomfortable with the request, decided it was no longer the right place for him.
He posted: “I left my former church the day my pastor with five cars told us, ‘Mummy does not have her own car. Let’s get her one.’ I knew I was in the wrong place.”
Although the man did not name the church, his post quickly gained attention, with numerous social media users sharing their thoughts in the comment section.
