It would be recalled that a viral video had surfaced online some days ago, capturing the moment a UNIZIK student confronted and physically assaulted her lecturer after he interrupted her TikTok live video session.

Following the emergence of the footage, the incident has sparked widespread debate across social media platforms. Many users have shared their opinions, with some blaming the lecturer for overstepping boundaries, while others have criticized the student for her reaction.

In a recently spotted online video, a Nigerian man firmly asserted that the lecturer was at fault for the entire situation. He argued that the lecturer acted unprofessionally by touching the student without her consent, especially considering that she is a female student.

According to him, the lecturer could have simply asked the student to move without making physical contact. He believes that the lecturer's actions were inappropriate and were the primary cause of the altercation that followed.

“I think the real culprit in this case is the lecturer. He didn’t behave in a manner befitting of an academic professional. Instead of touching her, he could have simply said ‘excuse me’ to get her attention. The fact that she is a female student makes it even worse because there are boundaries that should not be crossed. A teacher should know better,” he stated in part.

Reactions from social media users:

@Temmy_omoileri wrote: “God bless you, sir, for speaking up about this. People need to understand that touching others without their consent is an invasion of personal space. How else can we explain this?”

@JWEZEE stated: “Nigerians need to learn about boundaries and personal space. If I don’t know you or haven’t given you permission, do not touch me, simple.”

@Sundayjctrucks remarked: “Both the lecturer and the student could have handled the situation differently. However, the lecturer should have respected her personal space from the beginning.”

@Sundayjctrucks stated: “Absolutely! No one should ever touch another person without their consent, especially in a professional or academic setting. Boundaries must be respected.”
