A man has experienced a shocking moment after attempting to drop his phone in public as part of a challenge to prove that Nigeria is one of the safest countries in the world.
The man, identified as Abdusallam, had seen similar challenges from other countries and decided to give it a try in Oshodi, a busy town in Lagos, Nigeria. He aimed to demonstrate that the country is safe and that his phone would remain untouched, even if left in a public space for a while.
Abdusallam confidently dropped his phone while it was recording, leaving it unattended for about 30 minutes. He expected to return to find the phone still in place, untouched by anyone. However, to his surprise, his phone was targeted by a thief, who attempted to steal it, shattering his belief about the country’s safety.
After the incident, Abdusallam reflected on his actions and concluded that Nigeria may not, in fact, be the safest country as he once thought. His attempt to prove a point turned into a cautionary tale about the realities of public safety in some areas.
This daring challenge has sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians sharing their thoughts about the outcome of the challenge.
