The spokesperson for the state police command, SP Bright Edafe, shared details of the incident in a video posted on his X handle. He explained the situation, stating that the suspect, Benedict Toju, was initially intercepted along with his friends by police officers from the Ekpan Police station in Warri. After being searched, Benedict allegedly claimed that the police officers had caused his manhood to disappear.

Following the allegations, Benedict was brought to the police station and subsequently taken to the hospital for a medical examination. The doctor confirmed that his manhood was intact. In his explanation, Benedict later admitted that he was mistaken and expressed his regret, apologizing for his false claim.

SP Edafe emphasized the importance of setting an example in such cases, saying, "Let them go to court and explain how their manhood disappears when it is confirmed to be intact." He continued by sharing the moment of Benedict's apology, saying, "The DPO requested a doctor's examination, which was conducted and confirmed that my penis is intact."

In a follow-up statement, Benedict shared his perspective on the situation. He explained that after the search, he had felt uncomfortable and came back to the police station to explain his feelings, which he now admitted was wrong. He said, "When I left, I was feeling somehow, so I came back to explain how I was feeling, which was very wrong." He acknowledged that his anxiety led him to falsely believe that his manhood had disappeared.

Benedict revealed that upon checking his trousers and noticing a shrinking sensation, he panicked and mistakenly thought his manhood had vanished. "I opened my trousers and checked, but I was scared because it appeared to be shrinking and very small. Later, I realized it was my panic that caused it," he explained.
