A 22-year-old Nigerian lady recently shared a detailed account of an encounter with a 36-year-old man, which led to a heated exchange when she declined his invitation to visit his house just two days after their initial meeting.
The lady, who revealed her experience through a video posted on a popular social media platform, TikTok, explained how the situation unfolded after her mother’s friend introduced her to the man.
She began her story by mentioning that her mother had informed her about a friend who discussed with a man looking to settle down and find a woman to marry. Initially hesitant, she decided to give the idea a chance out of respect for her mother and her friend, agreeing to share her contact information with him.
According to the lady, she first met the man at his office, where they discussed various topics. She described how he was impressed with her goals and ambitions, particularly her career aspirations after her National Youth Service. During their meeting, he gave her ₦6,000 as a gesture, which she found unexpected but appreciated.
However, just two days after their first meeting, the man requested that she visit his house to “get to know her better.” The lady expressed her discomfort with the idea, stating that it was too soon for such a step. She felt it was inappropriate and told him so.
In response, the man insisted that it was necessary for them to know each other better, including seeing how she cooks and interacts with him in a home setting. Despite his persistence, she declined his invitation, emphasizing that she was not comfortable with the arrangement.
The man, seemingly offended, began accusing her of seeking a ready-made partner who would provide for her without any effort on her part. He questioned her intentions and suggested that she was not willing to invest in the relationship. This accusation deeply upset her, and she decided to share her experience online.
In the video, she reflected on the encounter, expressing her disappointment with how some men approach relationships. She also revealed her initial reservations about the age gap, as the man was 36 years old while she was only 22.
