A Nigerian lady, identified as Efe Johnson, has shared a detailed account of the terms and conditions her ex-boyfriend imposed on her during their relationship, revealing the restrictive and controlling nature of his demands.
In her narration, Efe explained that one of the conditions given to her by her ex-boyfriend was to avoid attending a specific church. However, much to her surprise and dismay, he joined the same church shortly after their relationship ended, an act she found hypocritical.
Adding to this, she disclosed another significant demand her ex-boyfriend made. According to her, he instructed her not to pursue her master’s degree abroad, an opportunity she saw as vital for her personal growth and career advancement. Efe described this demand as selfish and reflective of insecurity.
Reflecting on her experiences, Efe shared her thoughts in a Twitter post where she recounted these controlling behaviors and highlighted the challenges women face when dealing with insecure partners.
She wrote: “I once dated someone who told me I couldn’t attend a church but became a member of that church immediately after we split. I’m dissecting with my therapist, and you don’t realize how crazy some things are until after. Again, women with a purpose need to stay away from insecure men.”
Efe elaborated further, describing the extent of the control she experienced: “It’s insane reviewing timestamps. ‘Can’t go to that church, won’t do a master’s abroad, must do this, must do that,’ and it’s mostly after the woman starts to earn more and travel more. Phew. If anything, human nature is selfish, and insecure men are a weapon.”
Her post has since sparked conversations online, with many users weighing in on the dynamics of control and insecurity in relationships.
