A Nigerian lady has shared her perspective on men who do not pamper their women, labeling them as red flags, while reflecting on her own experiences with both her husband and ex. In a detailed post shared on social media, Joy Chinwenmeri opened up about the differences between her current relationship and her past one. She disclosed that, in her marriage, she has washed her husband clothes only twice, revealing that her husband takes extra care to ensure she does not get overwhelmed with chores. He consistently takes their clothes to the laundry, allowing her the time and mental space to focus on growing her business and managing other responsibilities.
In contrast, Joy explained that her ex fiance had a very different attitude toward domestic responsibilities. She recalled how her ex would leave her to handle the washing of multiple clothes and duvets while he relaxed and watched TV. She highlighted that her ex’s approach to gender roles was rigid, as he often referenced his mother, who had eight children, and argued that since she had managed to do all the household work, there was no reason for him to help or for her to complain about it.
This experience, Joy pointed out, made her realize how important it is for a man to share responsibilities and support his partner, especially in terms of emotional and physical well-being.
