In a narrative shared by a Twitter user known as @Ekwulu, the banker recounts a once-perfect life he had with his wife, both being professionals in their respective careers.

However, everything changed dramatically when he lost his job due to downsizing. Despite his relentless two-year search for employment and even losing his savings in business ventures, his wife exacerbated his situation by inviting three of her relatives to live with them in their residence located in Lekki.

Living with his in-laws became an absolute nightmare, though the banker chooses not to delve into the specific details of the torment he endured. Throughout this tumultuous period, his wife single-handedly shouldered financial responsibilities such as rent and their children's school fees.

The situation escalated further when his wife received a promotion, leading to his mother-in-law moving in as well. One evening, she confronted him in the dining room, criticizing his food preferences and interfering in their marriage. This resulted in a heated exchange of words between them.

Eventually, his wife returned and an argument ensued, with her accusing him of disrespecting her mother. The next morning, he made the difficult decision to leave, leaving behind all his belongings and prioritizing his mental well-being.

After his departure, he relied on the kindness of friends in Lagos, staying with them while attending job interviews. Although it was an arduous period, he expresses gratitude for his friends' support, emphasizing the importance of maintaining strong relationships and helping others during times of success.

Fortunately, he eventually secured a better-paying job, more than a year after their separation. Coincidentally, his wife lost her own job and relocated from Lekki to the mainland. She now sells products online, blaming her mother for her hardships. However, the banker states that he has forgiven her, yet the marriage is irreparably broken. Their two children live with her, and he directly pays their school fees and other child-related expenses.

Despite his wife's attempts to reconcile, he firmly states that he has moved on and is content with his current life. He now enjoys a fulfilling career and a comfortable lifestyle, living independently.
