A well-known Nigerian influencer has come forward to defend the UNIZIK student who was involved in a confrontation with a lecturer, during which she tore his clothes. The influencer not only supported the student’s actions but also expressed regret that she didn’t take things further by biting his nipples. At the same time, the influencer harshly criticized the lecturer for his behavior in the incident.

This controversy was brought to light in a viral post that quickly spread across X (formerly Twitter), drawing widespread attention and sparking heated debates.

In the widely shared post, the influencer firmly took a stance against the lecturer, arguing that his actions were unjustified. According to the influencer, the lecturer was at fault for physically shoving the student, and he had no authority to act in such a manner. The influencer emphasized that the lecturer’s behavior was not only inappropriate but also an abuse of power.

Further elaborating on the issue, the influencer accused the lecturer of attempting to manipulate the student into deleting a video he had deliberately walked into while she was filming. The influencer pointed out that the lecturer had no right to demand the deletion of the video and that his approach to the situation was unacceptable.

In a strongly worded statement, the influencer said: “This is absolute nonsense. Regardless of his position, he had no right to shove her in that manner.”

“Secondly, after reading his version of events, it’s clear that he tried to physically intimidate and manhandle the girl.”

“It’s also evident that he wanted to force her to delete a video in which he walked into the camera’s frame and, instead of simply moving away, he shoved her aside and then demanded she erase the footage.”

“When he says, ‘I then demanded and reached for her phone,’ what he actually means is, ‘I attempted to intimidate her and seize her phone by force.’”

“In Nigeria, oppression has become so normalized that many of us fail to recognize when we are being oppressed.”

“Frankly, he is lucky she only bit his hand. She should have aimed for his nipples and bitten them off.”

The influencer further analyzed the video, asserting that the footage provided undeniable evidence of what had transpired. The influencer noted that the lecturer’s contact with the student was not a mere touch but an aggressive shove, which fueled the confrontation.

“If you closely observe the movement of his hand, you’ll see clear proof of what really happened. If you need additional confirmation, just look at his facial expression—the disgust is unmistakable.”

“Initially, I was also disgusted by the student’s reaction, but after examining the lecturer’s written account of the incident, I quickly realized what was happening. I’ve personally been in situations where elders, particularly lecturers, manipulate narratives to make students look guilty. That’s when I recognized the deceptive language and immediately sensed dishonesty. So, I rewatched the video.”

“Furthermore, I refuse to blindly support a Nigerian lecturer over a student unless there is clear evidence that the student is entirely at fault. The reality is that eight out of ten Nigerian lecturers are abusive. If this same lecturer were abroad and faced a similar situation, he would never dare to physically touch a student, let alone shove her or try to seize her phone. He can get lost.”

Following the influencer’s post, the comments section exploded with diverse reactions from concerned individuals, each offering their perspective on the matter.

See some reactions below:

@I_Aduroja: “Your argument is valid. The way the lecturer reached out to her did seem to reflect disgust.”

@princessdebbych: “I completely disagree with this take. That girl was rude, and whatever gave her the audacity to bite an elder should be condemned. We shouldn’t justify bad behavior.”

@BelieveGod_1: “She was clearly blocking the passageway. Even if he pushed her slightly, there’s nothing wrong with that. A school is meant for learning, not making TikTok videos.”

@Cakelicious4: “From the video, it doesn’t seem like he shoved her. It looked more like a light tap and an ‘excuse me.’”

@Chi_Omma: “I don’t understand how people interpret things. Even if he did shove her, what stopped her from simply deleting the video when he asked? It’s not like she was going to post it anyway, especially since he had already interrupted her recording.”

@nonnybozz99: “I’m honestly shocked by this take. The lecturer, Dr. Okoye, is one of the calmest and most composed lecturers in that department. Why are you twisting this situation to fit your narrative?”

@IkechukwuMJB: “That girl actually has a strong case against the lecturer if this were a proper system. Technically, he assaulted her in that video. Even if she is naturally rude or disrespectful, if she takes legal action, she has a strong chance of winning.”

@Ifeanyi_Nnaji1: “Uche, your opinion on this doesn’t hold up. The student was filming in the hallway, which is a public space, not a private room. If someone records me in a public space without my consent, I have every right to ask for that video to be deleted.”
