A houseboy has been accused of murdering his employer, who is a lecturer, using a pestle. The employer, Chima Anolue, was a respected lecturer at the Psychology Department of Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka. The incident occurred on the evening of July 14, 2023, at Ifite village in Awka. According to reports, a fight broke out between Chima Anolue and his domestic servant, leading to the fatal attack.

The houseboy claimed that after he mentioned his ear problems, Chima Anolue slapped him and began flogging him with a cane. In a fit of anger, the houseboy picked up a pestle from the kitchen and struck Chima Anolue on the head. Shockingly, after rendering Chima Anolue unconscious, the suspect allegedly further assaulted him with a knife to make it appear as if a third party had attacked the deceased.

A family source revealed that while friends and relatives were taking Chima Anolue to the hospital, the suspect attempted to choke him inside the vehicle to conceal his actions. The victim, before passing away, managed to mention the suspect's name. Initially, the suspect claimed that the deceased's girlfriend had attacked him, but later admitted to killing him with a pestle.
