The House of Representatives has responded to President Bola Tinubu's announcement of fuel subsidy removal. They have called on Nigerians to pray for the successful implementation of the policy. This came after Abdulraheem Olajide, a member of the lower chamber of the national assembly, commended President Tinubu for making the pronouncement. Despite the subsequent petrol scarcity, Olajide emphasized the need for lawmakers to support Tinubu in the subsidy removal, as he campaigned for it and is prepared for the task ahead. Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila, prevented members from debating the motion, and instead, the House resolved to appeal to Nigerians to remain patient, resilient, and prayerful, in order for the President to fulfill his promises.
