Hilda Baci, a Nigerian chef and entrepreneur, is currently striving to break the Guinness World Records for the “longest cooking marathon by an individual”. The current record of 87 hours and 45 minutes was set by Lata Tondon, an Indian [/b]chef in 2019, and Baci aims to surpass it.
As of now, Baci has been cooking for over 84 hours and has less than three hours left to set a new record. She began the cookathon on Thursday at 4 pm, turning on her cooker and has been going non-stop ever since.
The cookathon is being live-streamed on YouTube from Amore Gardens in Lekki, Lagos, and various celebrities have attended the event to show their support. On Sunday, Baci reached the three-day mark and was cheered on by many attendees. The cookathon has gained a lot of attention both online and at the physical venue, where celebrities have been flocking to support the chef.
