Unknown gunmen stormed Gowon Estate in the Ipaja area of Lagos state and killed three people. SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the state's police command, confirmed the incident, stating that it occurred late at night. The police received a call from some residents of the Naval Block of the estate reporting the shootings and killings of three people by the gunmen on 41 Road, Union Bank Block in the estate. At the scene, the police found nine expended cartridges and a bunch of keys. One unidentified male corpse was recovered and evacuated to Mainland General Hospital, Yaba, for preservation and autopsy, while two male corpses were taken away by their families. A male survivor, Doba Ngoze, is currently receiving medical attention at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba.
