Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, is expected to submit his resignation as a lawmaker today in order to fully dedicate himself to his new position as President Bola Tinubu's Chief of Staff. President Bola Tinubu appointed Gbajabiamila as his Chief of Staff on June 2nd. Concerns were raised regarding how Gbajabiamila would manage both roles, as he was inaugurated alongside his colleagues for the 10th Assembly on Tuesday. According to Channels, Gbajabiamila will tender his resignation today, following which the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) may organize a fresh election to fill the vacant position.
