According to her account on X, the two had fallen in love during their university days. In 2016, the ex-girlfriend reportedly bought a car for her unemployed best friend and suggested using it for a transportation business.
However, things took a turn when the man expressed a desire to travel abroad. He asked his girlfriend to sell the car she bought him and hand over her entire life savings for his journey, promising to invite her once he secured his papers. Despite warnings from Torty Mercy, the ex-girlfriend agreed to the plan.
The X user revealed that she lost contact with the couple until 2019 when the ex-girlfriend informed her that the man was marrying a different woman he had met in the UK. The reason he gave for the breakup was the ex-girlfriend's perceived lack of submissiveness.
