Marie Claire-Rupio, the widowed wife of popular footballer Christian Atsu, has responded to the criticism she faced after posting a dancing video on her social media page. The video, in which she can be seen dancing and enjoying herself to Davido's hit track 'Unavailable', was shared just four months after the untimely demise of her husband, who tragically passed away during an earthquake in Turkey.

In response to the backlash, Claire defended her choice to dance, explaining that it serves as a coping mechanism for her. She expressed that she cannot let herself be consumed by sorrow, as she is now solely responsible for taking care of their three children. Claire emphasized that in Europe, mental health is addressed in various ways, and dancing has always been her passion. She kindly requested people to think before making hurtful comments or spreading negativity online.
In her own words, Claire wrote, "I am writing just to say a few things, yes I posted a dance video. Not because I am happy, but because I have to find a way to deal with my grief. I am not alone; I have 3 children to take care of by myself. I can't lose myself because I need to be strong for them. And in Europe, you deal with mental health in a lot of ways, and dancing was always my passion. So, excuse me, but please just think before you write something or put it on YouTube. Thank you."
