Siweifushe, one Beijing-based company, introduced a new innovation to combat the loneliness experienced by couples in long-distance relationships. The innovation is a kissing device named MUA, which collects users' kiss data through motion sensors that are hidden in its silicon lips.
The MUA is a long-distance kissing machine that can also capture and replay sound, while slightly warming up during the kissing experience to make it more authentic. It can be used with an accompanying app and even allows users to download kissing data submitted by other users.
The device was inspired by the lockdown isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic and was released on January 22, 2023, priced at 260 yuan ($38). In just two weeks after its release, Siweifushe sold over 3,000 kissing devices and received about 20,000 orders.
The MUA resembles a mobile stand with colorless pursed lips and is available in several colors with the same unisex lips. Although the MUA is not the first remote kissing device, it is a popular and innovative solution to address the lack of physical intimacy in long-distance relationships.
