Notable Nigerian culinarian, Chef Dammy, has responded to the report from Guinness World Records regarding her attempt at a 120-hour cook-a-thon. Earlier reports had claimed that Chef Dammy did not formally apply to the recording authority before undertaking the challenge, surpassing her compatriot Hilda Baci's cooking record. In an official statement posted on her Facebook page, the Ekiti Chef clarified that her intention behind the 120-hour cook-a-thon was to test her own capabilities rather than aiming to break any records. She expressed her satisfaction in persevering through the challenge and not giving up. Chef Dammy stated, "I stated this earlier that I embarked on this journey to test my capability, not for any GWR... I am happy that I cooked for 120 hours. I am proud that I never gave up." It is important to note that Chef Dammy surpassed Hilda Baci's awarded record of 93 hours for the longest cooking time. As a result, she has received numerous gifts and financial support from Nigerians who have applauded her tremendous effort.
