There are reports stating that some unknown armed men have allegedly carried out a kidnapping of a Catholic priest in Nnobi, Idemili Local Government Area located in Anambra State. The priest's identity has not yet been disclosed, but sources have claimed that he was traveling to a neighboring town called Awka-Etiti when the incident happened.
According to accounts provided by eyewitnesses in the area, the kidnapping took place at Nnobi Roundabout while the priest was trying to purchase some fruits. The priest's car was stopped at the roundabout when he received a phone call. As he was answering the call and searching for the caller's location, a vehicle carrying armed men suddenly double-crossed him. The armed men then forcibly took him into their jeep, leaving his car behind and drove off. The incident caused a commotion in the market, and the armed men shot into the air indiscriminately before leaving the scene.
