A community in Ife South Local Government Area of Osun State, specifically Araromi-Oke Odo, has reason to celebrate as they've finally been blessed with light after nearly enduring 91 years of darkness. This monumental change comes on the heels of recent political developments in Osun State, where Ademola Adeleke, affectionately known as the "dancing Senator," secured victory in a court case against his political rival from the APC, Adegboyega Oyetola, thereby assuming the governorship of Osun State.

Ademola Adeleke has been actively working to fulfill his promises to the citizens of Osun State, including the provision of welfare and essential amenities. In a commendable effort, he has partnered with an independent energy company known as Sholep to bring light to communities that have long been shrouded in darkness.

The initiative was carried out under the leadership of Governor Adeleke, represented by the Commissioner for Energy, Adeyemo Ademola. During the event, Governor Adeleke expressed his gratitude to the residents of Araromi-Oke Odo for their unwavering endurance since they settled in the town back in 1932

Adeyemi, the Commissioner for Energy, assured the community that this project would not be an isolated endeavor, as the government has plans to extend similar initiatives to other communities across the State. He stated, "This is the first of its kind in this State. We appreciate the Sholep company, and we are anticipating more of it. There are projects of this nature going on in eight different communities in Ife-South. We are extending the same gesture to other communities in other local governments in Osun. The State government is partnering with foreign investors to bring energy to our State."
