A Nigerian man, Okey Aliyu, has offered a piece of advice to women, urging them to always keep in mind that their mother-in-law is neither their friend nor their mother.
In a Facebook post spotted on his page, the young man expressed his opinion, emphasizing the importance of women maintaining boundaries in their relationship with their mother-in-law. He pointed out that while it may seem tempting to become overly comfortable around them, it is crucial to approach the relationship with caution and set clear limits.
Aliyu further explained that regardless of how kind or welcoming a mother-in-law might appear, women should be mindful of the closeness they share in conversations and other interactions. He stressed the need for women to set boundaries to avoid potential misunderstandings or complications in the relationship.
In his words, he shared the following advice:
“As a Lady, always bear in mind that your Mother-in-law is neither your friend nor your Mother. Your conversation and dealings with her should have limits no matter how nice she might be. My free advice to you,” he wrote in a Facebook post.
