A heartbreaking incident has occurred in Yobe State, Nigeria, as a 38-year-old lecturer, Dr. Barde Luka Yelwa, and his wife, Godiya, passed away within two days of each other. Dr. Barde was a lecturer in the biology department at the Umar Suleiman College of Education in Gashua. Sadly, he died on Thursday, April 20, 2023, after suffering a heart attack while taking care of his ailing wife.
His wife, Godiya, passed away two days later, on Saturday, April 22, 2023, leaving behind their 5-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son. The couple will be laid to rest at Dagare Village, which is located 10 kilometers along the Bauchi-Jos Road, on April 24, 2023.
The sudden deaths of Dr. Barde and his wife have left their friends, family, and colleagues in shock and disbelief. Many have taken to social media platforms like Facebook to express their grief and pay tribute to the deceased couple. Some of the comments from the Facebook posts include heartfelt messages of condolences and memories of the couple's kindness and dedication to their work.
Joeman Joseph, a friend of the deceased couple, wrote on Facebook, "We spoke just a few days ago after your Ph.D. accomplishment, not knowing that it would be the last moment I would ever hear from you again." It is clear that the loss of this couple has deeply affected those who knew them, and their memories will live on through the people whose lives they touched.
