A 35-year-old man, Felix Vhimga, who had been missing for a few days, has been found dead near a stream in the Ojowo area of Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State. The discovery of his body has left many in the community in shock and disbelief.
Vhimga, a resident of the community, had visited his brother, Sunday Robert, on the evening of November 11. After spending some time with him, Vhimga left his brother’s house around 9:00 pm to head back to his own home, but he never made it. His family became alarmed when he failed to return or make contact the following day. Concerned for his well-being, Robert began searching for him but was unsuccessful in locating him. He then went to the local police station to report Felix as missing.
Upon receiving the report, the Ogun State Police Command launched an extensive search for Vhimga. Officers scoured the area, and during their search, the corpse of the missing man was found near a stream in the community on the morning of November 13, around 7:00 am. A police source revealed that Vhimga’s body was discovered with a wound on his forehead, close to the left eye. The injury raised suspicions, prompting further investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
The police quickly responded to the discovery, with a team of officers inspecting the scene and securing the body. The corpse was then evacuated and taken to Alayangbe Private Morgue for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Authorities are awaiting the results of the autopsy to understand more about what led to his tragic death.
In an update from the police, the case has now been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Ijebu Igbo, where investigators will continue to probe the circumstances of the incident. The police have also stated that their investigation is ongoing, and they are working to uncover any further details about what happened to Vhimga during the night he went missing. The community remains shaken, as Vhimga’s death leaves many unanswered questions and concerns about his final moments.
