The Super Eagles of Nigeria faced a late equalizer in their international friendly against Saudi Arabia, which took place in Portugal on Friday.
Jose Peseiro's team was left with a 2-2 draw after a last-minute goal from Saudi Arabia's Mohamed Kanno. The game kicked off with an unexpected goal from the Green Falcons of Saudi Arabia in the 60th minute when Nigeria's goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho, unfortunately mishandled a corner kick, causing the ball to end up in his own net.
Nigeria's Kelechi Iheanacho, who came off the bench, managed to give his team the lead with a well-timed strike in the 81st minute. However, the lead was short-lived as Saudi Arabia found the back of the net with a late free-kick almost at full time, resulting in a disappointing 2-2 draw for the Nigerian side.
Looking ahead, the Super Eagles are scheduled to face Mozambique in another friendly on Monday, October 16, as part of their preparations for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
