Spanish midfield maestro, Sergio Busquets, is set to reunite with his former Barcelona teammate, Lionel Messi, as he joins Inter Miami in the MLS.
After turning down lucrative offers from Saudi clubs, Busquets has reached an agreement to join Inter Miami following the conclusion of his contract with Barcelona.

Busquets enjoyed a remarkable 15-year stint at Barcelona, where he secured nine La Liga titles, seven Copa del Reys, and three Champions League trophies. He was also instrumental in Spain's triumph at the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 European Championships. Alongside Messi, he will bring an impressive collection of accolades to the MLS.
Furthermore, there are reports that Inter Miami is also pursuing the signing of left-back Jordi Alba, another former Barcelona player who will be departing the Spanish club at the end of the season.
Earlier, Lionel Messi left PSG after the 2022/23 season, having secured the Ligue 1 title. While a return to Barcelona and La Liga was considered, the 35-year-old superstar decided to conclude his European career and embark on a new chapter in the United States with Inter Miami.
According to the Miami Herald, Messi is expected to sign a two-and-a-half-year contract worth $50 million to $60 million per year, with an option to extend until 2026.
While negotiations for the arrival of several former teammates of Messi are still ongoing, one player who won't be joining Inter Miami this summer is Angel Di Maria.Â
