Napoli have firmly stated that star winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is not for sale, following reports of the player’s desire to leave.
The club released a statement on Sunday, refuting claims made by Kvaratskhelia’s agent, Mamuka Jugeli, and his father, Badri.
The 23-year-old Georgian has attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain, with Napoli rejecting two substantial bids between €80-100 million.
Jugeli’s comments to Georgian outlet Sport Imedi, suggesting Kvaratskhelia’s readiness to join a Champions League contender, sparked concerns in Naples.
Napoli responded late Sunday, emphasizing the player’s contractual obligations.
“Kvaratskhelia is not on the market,” the statement read. “It’s not agents or fathers who decide on the future of a player under contract with Napoli, but the Calcio Napoli club!!! End of story.”
Newly appointed coach Antonio Conte considers Kvaratskhelia integral to his plans and is keen to retain him for the upcoming season.
